“ If you love authentic Thai food in a cozy spot, this is the place. The staff was kind and welcoming, making the experience even better. ”
“ Hidden gem on Ventura food was good at reasonable price the place was clean and service was great ”
“ This place is great! Their food is good, but my favorite thing here is their mango sticky rice. They seem to be the only Thai restaurant in the valley that have it available year around, as it is the only place I can find it in stock even when mangos aren't in season. The mango is always fresh and juicy and the purple sticky rice is served slightly warm with the perfect amount of sweet condensed milk. If you haven't tried it, you should. It also travels well if you take it to go. ”
“ Thai On Ventura is cozy, small and fits the bill for a neighborhood Thai restaurant in a casual atmosphere. I came in earlier this week with a friend and we enjoyed our time and the food! Service was minimal but just right and friendly. Seating is just indoor and is made up of tables with partial booth seating all along the right side. Soft music and TVs featuring some sights of Thailand make up the atmosphere. The menu is quite large so there should be a bit of something for all needs and tastes. Of course some items require choices being made of proteins or vegetables, types of rice and of course levels of heat/spiciness. We enjoyed the following on this first visit: Paya Salad w/grilled shrimp: Green papaya slices in lime juice, garlic, green beans, and tomatoes. We did this on a medium spice level which was perfect with just the amount of heat for us. Ingredients were fresh and the taste was flavorful. Quantity was enough to share for 2-3 people. Red Curry: Thai red curry and coconut milk, bell peppers, bamboo shots, eggplant, sweet basil. We did this with a choice of beef, purple rice and on a medium spice level. This was a comforting dish I am used to and the taste was just as good as others that I've had; the beef was tender. The purple rice was new to me so I wanted to try it, it was cooked well and has a slight stickiness to it, it has no flavor really but it was good to try. Crab Meat Fried Rice: Fried rice with white crab meat, egg, onion and tomatoes. The portion was huge and is easily good to share as well. Decent amount of crab and good flavor overall! Prices were good and comparable to other places I have been to. Parking options include a small lot in the back (the entrance is right on the side of the establishment) and street metered parking on Ventura. Looking forward to coming back or doing take out! They have lunch specials during the week from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm starting at $11.95 currently. ”
“ Enjoyed a beautiful dinner with a friend here and so appreciate that they allowed us to take our time to follow the final diners out the door. First time here. The fried mushrooms were a great starter. The tom kha soup was on the sweeter side which is not my preference but I loved the mushrooms and cherry tomatoes in there. The eggplant with tofu was so delicious as was the vegetable fried rice. The food was not spectacular, but we did enjoy it. Five starts for the service. ”
“ Clean little place with good Thai food! Right on Ventura so the catchy name for this eatery fits :) Prices are somewhat reasonable BUT the portion of rice that comes with the curry dishes is unacceptably tiny... The owner clearly wants customers to pay extra for more rice which is not cool. Place is small and doesn't have an ambiance or outdoor seating regardless if the portion of rice was reasonable we would have give it 5 stars instead of 4 stars :) ”
“ HIGHLY recommend this place. So so so good and a great place to stop for lunch on the way to six flags. Was very grateful this place was open in Christmas Day. The spicy drunken noodles with double meat was where it's at!! And those very generous spring rolls - great way to start the meal. The service is super nice and they keep a vigilant eye on you in this quaint space! Thank you to the owners and workers for a nice meal. ”
“ Love when I am with friends who love Thai food. That is how we came a crossed here. It is small and quaint. Staff is nice and friendly. The Thai Iced Coffee, was just the jolt I needed for the afternoon. My only disappointment was my dish of Pad See Ew. The photos on Yelp show an abundance of broccoli and protein. It needed a little more broccoli and I should've had shrimp instead of chicken. However, my friend's Tom Kha soup smelled and looked delicious. Maybe an off day? If you are in the neighborhood stop in maybe order an appetizer if you're on the hungrier side. Oh and the parking lot behind them is tiny, so be patient looking for a spot to park or plan for a little walk. ”
“ I met my old teacher here after a few years, and we enjoyed a lovely meal together. He can't eat carb-based dishes or sweet and spicy foods due to health issues, so he chose grilled teriyaki chicken with vegetables, while I went for a mild panang curry. We also shared some chicken satay as an appetizer. The food was fantastic, and the service was excellent. The ambiance was perfect - cozy, modern, and clean, with a contemporary interior. We had a great lunch time here! ”
